Security and Privacy Disclosure
Whidbey Island Banks Online Security Statement
Welcome to our Online Banking site!
Whidbey Island Bank is committed to making your Online Banking experience safe and secure. This Online Banking service provides security technology to protect data for our customers and for the bank. We have taken many measures to ensure your privacy.
Information Encryption
We use encryption technology to ensure the privacy of your information. Your banking information never travels the Internet without encryption protection.
Personally Selected Account Names
Whidbey Island Bank does not display your account numbers over the Internet. Instead, we ask you to choose a "pseudo" name for each of your accounts.
Individual ID & PIN Information
In order to access Whidbey Island Banks Online Banking, you must enter a unique User ID and PIN. Bill payment services require an additional User ID and PIN for initial access.
PIN Security System
To keep unauthorized individuals from accessing your account by guessing your PIN, we instituted a PIN security system. If your PIN is entered incorrectly three consecutive times, the user is "locked out" of the system for 24 hours. Your account is not accessible via Online Banking throughout this 24-hour lockout period.
You will have the ability to monitor the access of your account by the information provided when you log in each time. This record will report your last login date and the number of times you have logged in. Reset Login Count allows users to reset the counters for their login history.
Automatic Log-Off
If you are logged on the Online Banking but do not perform any activity for 10 minutes, you will not be able to proceed until you "re-log on to the system.
Additional Security Measures
We have sophisticated firewalls and an authentication process to ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed to enter our system.
Protect your Online Banking account information
Whidbey Island Bank works to protect your banking privacy. However, you also play an important role in protecting your accounts. Here are some of the steps you can take to ensure that your Online Banking account information is protected:
Dont reveal your User ID or PIN to anyone else. Your User ID and PIN are designated to protect your banking information, but they will only work if you keep them to yourself.
Change your Online Banking User ID number assigned to you by the bank and change your PIN number frequently.
Dont walk away from your computer if you are in the middle of an Online Banking session.
Once you have finished your Online Banking session, sign off before visiting other Internet sites.
If you notice any suspicious or unusual activity related to any of your accounts, contact us immediately at (360) 679-3121, Online Banking Department.
